Set up mobile grooming
In Packyard, a van works like a location. It has its own home base, its own service area and its own groomer each day. Each van gets a route on Today and in Appointments.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Only the business owner can change mobile grooming settings. Staff can look at them.
Turn on mobile grooming
Section titled “Turn on mobile grooming”- Go to Settings → Mobile grooming.
- Click Turn on mobile grooming.
The page now shows four tabs: Vans, Travel fee, Online booking and On my way. You can turn mobile grooming off again with the Mobile grooming on switch at the top.
Add a van
Section titled “Add a van”- On the Vans tab, click Add van.
- Enter a Name, like “Maya’s van”.
- Enter the Home base, City, State and ZIP code. This is where the van starts its day.
- Set Max drive between stops (min) and Buffer after each stop (min). They start at 30 and 10.
- Click Add van.
The van appears in the list on the left, with its details on the right.
Change a van’s details
Section titled “Change a van’s details”- On the Vans tab, click the van in the list.
- Open Van details.
- Change what you need. Each field saves when you click away from it.
- Colour on maps and Today: the van’s colour on its route, its service area and its weekday tiles.
- Home base (start): where the van starts. Leave it blank to start from the first stop.
- End of day address: where the van finishes, like a groomer’s home. Leave it blank and the day ends back at the home base.
- Max drive between stops: online booking never offers a time that’s a longer drive than this from the stops around it.
- Buffer after each stop: time for set-up, clean-down and parking, added after every visit.
Retire a van
Section titled “Retire a van”- Click the van in the list.
- Click Retire van, then Retire van again to confirm.
The van leaves Today, Appointments and online booking, and its service area stops counting. Past visits stay in your reports. Move any upcoming visits to another van first.
- Each new van gets its own colour automatically. You can change it in Van details.
- If the home base can’t be found on the map, Van details asks you to check the address.
