Set a van's service area
Each van has one service area: a name and a list of ZIP codes. The van serves its area on every day someone drives it.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Add the van first. See Set up mobile grooming.
Create the area
Section titled “Create the area”- Go to Settings → Mobile grooming.
- On the Vans tab, click the van in the list.
- Open Service area.
- Enter an Area name, like “Noe & Mission”. Customers see it in online booking (“You’re in the Noe & Mission area”).
- Enter the ZIP codes, separated by commas or spaces.
- Click Create service area.
Add or remove ZIP codes
Section titled “Add or remove ZIP codes”- To add one, click + ZIP, type the ZIP code and press Enter.
- To remove one, click the × on its chip.
- To rename the area, change Area name and click away from it.
What the numbers mean
Section titled “What the numbers mean”- active clients inside: active customers whose address is in one of the area’s ZIP codes.
- van clients outside it: customers who’ve had a visit on this van but live outside its area.
- days a week served: the days someone drives the van. Change them on the Schedule tab.
The map shows the van’s home base, with a dot for each customer inside the area and a yellow dot for each van customer outside it.
- Online booking: a customer can only book a van whose area includes their ZIP code. Two vans can cover the same ZIP code. Then the customer sees times on both vans.
- Outside every area: customers who live outside every van’s area can’t book a van online. Staff can still book them. The booking shows a warning.
- No areas at all: if none of your vans has an area, every van takes online bookings from anyone.
- ZIP+4 codes are trimmed to five digits.
