Set up your agreement

Your agreement is the waiver or service terms customers sign, for example your policies on matting, aggressive pets, and late pickups. You write it once, then customers sign it online.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top right to open Settings.
  2. Click Agreements, then Create Agreement.
  3. Enter an Agreement title, like “Grooming Agreement”.
  4. Write or paste your terms into Agreement content. You can use Bold, Italic, and bullet lists.
  5. Under When is this agreement required?, pick one:
    • Sign once: sent automatically when you book a customer who hasn’t signed it.
    • Sign on every booking: sent automatically each time you book the customer.
    • Not required, I will send manually: only sent when you send it yourself.
  6. Under How long does a signature last?, pick Never expires, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years.
  7. Leave Status set to Active.
  8. Click Save Agreement.

Use the Insert: buttons to add Customer Name, Pet Name, Business Name, Business Phone, or Business Email. They’re filled in when the customer opens the agreement.

After the time you picked under How long does a signature last?, the signature shows as Expired on the customer’s page, and the calendar shows Agreement expired. With Sign once, Packyard sends the agreement again the next time you book them. You can also send it yourself with Send for renewal. See Send an agreement for signature.

  • Automatic sends never hold up a booking. If a customer already has an agreement waiting to be signed, Packyard doesn’t send another.
  • The calendar warns about missing signatures only when you have an active agreement set to Sign once or Sign on every booking. The warning doesn’t stop you booking.
  • Editing an agreement doesn’t change signed copies. Customers who already signed keep the wording they signed. Customers who sign later see your new wording.
  • To stop using an agreement, edit it and set Status to Archived. It can’t be sent anymore, but customers’ signed copies stay on their pages, marked (archived).
  • You can’t delete an agreement you’ve sent to anyone. Archive it instead. You can delete one you never sent.
  • Only owners and staff can create and edit agreements.
