Add a service

Services are what you book: a full groom, a bath, a nail trim. Each one has a price and a length, which Packyard uses to fill the calendar.

1. Go to Settings → Services.
2. Click Add Service.
3. Enter a Service Name, like “Full Grooming”.
4. Pick a Category. If you don’t have one yet, click + New category, type a name, and click Add.
5. Enter the Fee ($) and the Duration (minutes). Duration must be a whole number of minutes.
6. Optional: add a Tax (%) and a Description.
7. Optional: limit who the service is for. Pick an Animal Type and Breeds, or pick people under Staff (optional).
8. Leave Active turned on.
9. Click Add Service. You’ll see Service created successfully.

• Customers see active services when they book online, with the name, description, length, and price. Write the description for them.
• Animal type and breed limits: customers booking online only see the services set up for their pet. Staff can still book any service, but get a warning. A pet with no breed on file isn’t blocked by a breed limit.
• Staff limits: if you pick people under Staff (optional), you’ll see a warning when you book the service with someone else. You can still book it.
• To stop offering a service, open it, turn off Active, and click Update Service. It no longer shows up when you or your customers book.
• To delete a service, open it and click Delete, then confirm. A service that’s on any past or upcoming appointment can’t be deleted. Turn off Active instead.
• Changing a price can change the total of appointments already booked with that service, unless you gave that appointment its own price.
• Services are listed A–Z. You can’t reorder them.
• Only owners and staff can add or change services.
