The problem
Square Appointments was not made for groomers
You are not booking a haircut. You are booking a 70 lb doodle with matted ears who bit someone last spring.
Square Appointments does not know that. It sees a client and a time slot. It does not know the dog’s breed, weight, coat, temperament or shots. So you keep that in your head, in a notebook, or in a notes field nobody reads.
Packyard keeps it all on the dog’s profile, where your groomers see it before the dog walks in.
Safety
Protect your groomers. Know every dog’s shots.
Your groomers have their hands on dogs all day. Bites happen. When one does, the first question is simple: is this dog’s rabies shot current? If the answer is “I think so” or “the paper is somewhere,” that is a bad day for your groomer and your shop.
Packyard makes sure you always know.
- 1
Every dog’s shots on its profile.
Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, or any other vaccine your shop asks for.
- 2
Rabies warnings on every booking.
You see it when you book, not when the dog is on the table.
- 3
Clients send records from their phone.
You text a link. They upload a photo of the certificate. No login, no chasing paper.
- 4
Asked again before they expire.
Packyard texts the owner for a new record 14, 30 or 60 days before the old one runs out.
Rabies shots are required by law for dogs in nearly every state. Some cities, like New York City, also require groomers to keep proof on file. Packyard keeps it for you either way.

Questions Square users ask
Square already sends reminders. Why switch?
If all you need is a calendar and reminders, Square’s free plan does that. Packyard is for groomers who want each dog’s breed, coat, temperament and shots in one place, with rabies warnings on every booking, and an app built for the grooming table and the van.
Do I have to leave Square?
No. You keep your Square account, card reader and payouts. Packyard only replaces the booking side.
Will I lose my client list?
No. Export your customer list from Square and email it to support@packyard.app. We import your clients and pets for free.
Do I have to keep vaccination records?
Rabies shots are required by law for dogs in nearly every state, and some cities, like New York City, require groomers to keep proof on file. Even where it is not the law, keeping records protects your groomers if a dog bites. Packyard stores them and asks owners for a new one before they expire.
What does it cost?
$49 per groomer a month. Every feature, no text caps, no setup fee. Try it free for 30 days.
Is there a contract?
No. Cancel any time.
Does it work for mobile groomers?
Yes. Routes, booking by area and taking payment at the curb are built in. See mobile grooming.
What about appointments already booked in Square?
The import brings over clients and pets, not appointments. Keep booked appointments in Square until they are done, and take new bookings in Packyard. Running both for a short while is normal.
Can I take payment without Square?
Yes. Packyard also works with Stripe, including Tap to Pay on your phone.
Your dogs deserve better than a generic calendar. Your groomers deserve to be safe.
$49 per groomer a month after your 30-day trial. No contract. Keep Square.
